The Sheraton Hotel a 5-star prime location on the banks of the Dubai creek was constructed by Rader + Mileto between 1975 and 1977 with architects of the Rome Group on reclaimed land in Deira. On december 6th 1975 the foundation stone was laid by H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum
International chain house Hotel Inter-Continental was designed by architects Neuhaus Taylor / 3D International and opened march 1975. Originaly managed by the Pan American airlines it is today a SAS Radisson.
The Pearl Tower was constructed by Arabtec LLC with plans and under the supervision of architects Khatib + Alami. In 1976 with 17 floors the tallest high-rise building in Dubai with a curtain wall system of aluminium panels.
The Carlton Tower Hotel opened in 1977 next to the Riviera. The once modern pre-fab facade, where each window was in the center of a huge concrete block, was modernized 2005 with a more classic-style facade.

To expand the number of hotel rooms of the existing 10-storey building (right) the Hotel Inter-Continental tower was started 1977 by architects Neuhaus + Taylor.
The Dubai Municipality building is a very modern version of a townhall and was built 1978 by the architectural firm Pacific Consultants International from Japan and Civic Design Studio.
Since 1978 at the heart of Bur Dubai stands the
international style Jumbo Electronics building.
Luxus Hotel Towers
Another solitaire building of Neuhaus + Taylor Architects opened in 1980 at the Deira corniche. The Hyatt Regency is very close to the DXB airport and it's flying path towards the Persian Gulf and many international tourist destinations.
The Deira Tower built 1979 at Baniyas Square had a revolving restaurant on top. The concrete blocks of the facade shows influences of Middle-Eastern architecture, Persian Mughal arcades and Islamic window screens.
The Dubai Tower was built 1979 by Arkiteknik International Engineering Consultants on Baniyas Square in Al Rigga.
