Two tower blocks between Baniyas Square and the creek are connected by a bridge on the upper floors 1997 by consultant Khatib + Alami Architects.

Marriott's Executive Apartments towers in Rigga Al Buteen are linked by a 75 meter skywalk bridge on the top floors. The building was designed 1999 by TEST Technical Studies Bureau.

The Bur Dubai Grand Mosque at the Souk is one of the largest in the Emirates and heart of the city's religious and cultural life. The current Masjid was re-built in 1999 with a 70 meter minaret in the original Persian style. The building's history goes back to a Islamic elementary school established in 1850 where boys and girls learned to recite the Holy Quran.
